Robert Huff.  47 Years.

Museum of Art and Design, MoA.

In 2014, the Miami art community mourned the great loss of Robert Huff, an exceptional artist and teacher to many. Spanning nearly fifty years, the two- and three-dimensional works in Robert Huff: 47 Years traces the aesthetic development of artist and longtime Miami resident.

Huff drew inspiration for his painted and constructed works from the natural landscape and from architecture, re-casting these elements to form a personal vocabulary of abstraction. The aesthetic output of his oeuvre is by turns intuitive and playful, and also sober and exacting, but always highly personal. The works selected celebrate the remarkable consistency apparent in Huff's vision throughout many years.

curating

Curating is like making a collage (to me). Artist’s works provides unlimited material. With discernment I select, cut, place, arrange and order into a new context, promoting ideas over individual or specific artworks.

Robert Huff, 47 Years. Museum of Art & Design 2015

Nature was once our sole habitat and unique resource. The modern world is fast-paced and technology-driven, and so we lose our connection to each other and nature. This exhibition attempts to inspire a return to the natural state, to become more conscious of our decision and actions that affect us personally and have an impact on the environment.
